PAINT THE PARKS TOP 100
One of Steven's paintings, Sapphirine Cove (oil, 20x24", pictured above), has been included in this year’s Paint the Parks Top 100 touring exhibition. This exhibition will be held at several locations over the next year, beginning with the Kolb Studio, South Rim Village, Grand Canyon National Park on Thursday, August 4, 2009.
In addition to being chosen as one of the top 100 entries for the show, this painting was also awarded the Kim Casebeer Juror’s Award.

14th ANNUAL RICHARD SCHMID FINE ART AUCTION
Steven's painting On Trail Ridge (oil, 12"x24") will be auctioned in the 2009 Live Auction on Sunday, September 6, 2009. This auction is an annual fundraiser for the Rist Canyon Volunteer Fire Department.
Since the auction's beginning in 1996, over 1000 pieces of fine original art have been auctioned for a total of over $1.5 million, generating over $555,000 to support one of just two all-volunteer fire departments in Colorado that receive no mandated tax support.
This year, the live auction will consist of 50 original works of art that were personally selected by founding artist Richard Schmid.
